ohno is pretty famous for chain smoking.
he probably smokes the most out of the group.

well my answer... "he started again he started again!"
for awhile i didnt think aiba and ohno smoked either...
for sure i knew ohno was a social smoker...
but now i'm positive he's a chain smoker.
when they were in korea even the security was like "he smokes the most!"
and during the asia song festival...
hahaha like high school boys that aren't trying to get caught...
the 5 of them were squatting on the ground in a circle...
all smoking together. for some reason this image hella made me laugh.
in any case in the korea digest video...
nino and aiba screw with oh chan while he's smoking.
nino suddenly turns the camera on ohno and he really quickly hides his stoge.
anyway and then to make things worse nino starts asking questions.
he then turns the camera on aiba...
and then ohno obviously takes a puff...
and then nino turns the camera on ohno...
and you hear aiba laughing at this...
and then while ohno is talking you can hear him letting out the smoke.
if you look REALLY carefully you'll see the smoke.
of course it doesn't end there. nino hasn't had enough fun yet.
ohno is smoking again. this time you hear jun laughing at this.
but on the bottom right hand corner you can see the smoke..
not to mention while ohno is talking he looks down to probably tap his stoge.
anyway i actually have a point to this.
this is actually a pet peeve...
this doesn't only apply to arashi but to a lot of fandom that involve idols.
there are ALWAYS fan that get all overly UPSET about smoking.
this TOTALLY freaking annoys the CRAP out of me.
#1 smoking is bad for your health.
i can COMPLETELY agree with this.
smoking is bad for your health...and i would PREFER if they wouldn't smoke.
but what STUPID people seem to assume is that...
YOU ARE BAD IF YOU SMOKE.
please...prove me wrong...
but the last time i checked...
there was no studies that concluded smoking makes you a bad person.
smoking doesn't change who you are...it doesn't change your outlook on life...
it doesn't change who they are as people.
it is merely an action that is bad for their health.
then there's the argument of ... "but they are singers they should know better.
they are well past 18 years old...they can make their own decisions.
it's not anyone's job to make their decisions for them.
and that "but they are singers..." bullshit...
if you only knew how many singers REALLY smoked...
don't put down MY artist because you are too ignorant to differentiate
a bad habit to a bad person.
smoking is LEGAL, and everyone has their own right to choose to do it or not to do it.
if they do choose to do it, it's unfortunate, but it doesn't change them as a human being.
they are STILL going to care for their fans, they are STILL going to try their hardest...
once again ... i don't approve of their smoking habits...
but i have NO RIGHT to tell them what to do or what not to do.
to be disappointed in your group bc you caught them smoking...
i mean seriously...they are not 10 here.

Ah, who cares whether they smoke or not. If they were sitting next to me in a restaurant and I was trying to eat I might say something to them, (^__^) but in a picture? Nah. It's their skin/lungs/mouth to use however they wish.

I dont mind them smoking, as long as they're not anywhere near children below 12 years old... I mean, i'm a smoker too... but if theres children around me, i moved elsewhere or i stop smoking... Children need to be protected, not harmed! ^^

And hey, it's good that they (arashi in particular I'm talking about here) have vices, no one is perfect, but it's still a disgusting habit.

Their lives are their choice how they live them, but I love them all the more that it's kept to themselves.

smoking doesnt make a person bad... it in fact has some advantages and disadvantages... i guess most people are not aware of that... im not a smoker im allergic of smoke from cigarettes... but i dun think less of people who are smokers... with arashi i think ive only seen mj smoking (tokyo tower), aiba (in a picture holding a cigarette), and now with ohno with the screencap.... come to think of it, the fact that ohno tried to hide it means he doesnt want his fans to see him smoking, not that its bad or sumthin but it affects one's health and that underaged fans might think its okei...

Smoking is not my habit.. but once I go out with friend , and I prefer to " hold the thing , and smok with them" just for fun.. I guess they call this " social smoker "? I dont see anything wrong with this... I am netural about this..

As a fan, though, I can't help but think about the fact that smoking DOES contribute to faster aging, bad skin, physical deterioration, damage to throat and lungs, etc. Personal health aside, I'd still hope that they would at least think of their careers...I wouldn't Arashi's demise to come anytime soon, and it saddens me that their smoking is unfortunately speeding up the process. Plus, I have nothing against people who smoke privately, but second-hand smoke is quite an inconsiderate thing to do among friends and family (or even strangers on the street), no?
i personally don't like to be next to a smoker...although i do my really RARE social smoking, tho prefer not to (unless in a really SUPER EXTREME stressful situation)...cuz i know it is bad for our health...so, yeah, it is a matter of choice, can't help it, no one put a gun on our forehead to do it...

Oh! It was...in the...Iza Now concert MC thingy. o__o Well...It sounded to me like he swore in english. It was in the part where he shouts...and then points at Ohno saying, "You?" then Ohno points at himself, nodding, "You." xD!! That was so cute. Jun corrected Ohno later on that he was supposed to say "Me."
But anyway! Yeah...I think he did swear in english. BUT it sounded like..."Aw set." xD ...yeah...it's the s-word. That one that means poo. o_o; Okay I just can't say it but it was the cutest thing ever...xD

I was just going to say that as much as fans can worry about their idols' smoking habits, it's not in place to get upset about it. i mean, if you smoked, you wouldn't like it if people go over the top about it yeah?
I actually think it's adorable that they smoke, because it shows how real they are as people. And I'm sure they care a lot enough for each other to warn / watch over if the smoking gets out of hand. :)

actually it made me look at Ninomiya-kun and Ohno-kun differently, but I loved them even more (not because i like them to smoke because I don't want to smoke myself) but because... i dont know. it just made me love them more. haha.
I understand why some fans would be upset since Arashi always has a clean-cut image, and it's kinda expected that they uphold that image. Maybe that's why Ohno was trying to hide the ciggie when evil Nino was filming him.
It saddens me not because Ohno smokes heavily, but that he's 26 years old and he has to hide it. Not that I think smoking is great, and I do think he should cut back, but he doesn't have to sneak around trying to smoke anymore.
Smoking is disgusting habbit, thats why I get upsed, then I find that they are smoking. Smoke and gestures of smoking person, every bit of smoking process are unpleasant too see. I cant stand smoking, I've grown up in un-smoking family, un-smoking school class.
But, in other hand, I know that smoking is stress-reliever. And Im sure that our boys have a lot of stress. And smoking dont makes person bad, as you said, off course. So I dont have anything to say for our boys about that. If they want/need to smoke, they have their rights for it. And they cares about fans sufficient for not too show it openly.
Well, I knew they all smoked, but didn't know that Ohno would be a chain smoker. I was shocked when I first found out that they smoked, but have learned to accept it. They're still the same baka boys, although I wish they would take better care of themselves.
I was also thinking, during the Iza Now MC Ohno was hesitant about listing what he kept in his fanny pack. And after reading this post and seeing the clips with my own eyes, I think he keeps his cigarettes in his fanny pack and didn't want to mention it to the fans, kind of like the way he was trying to hide the smoke in the Around Asia footage. Or maybe I'm just thinking too much...
