i would think so.
so i know there are huge groups that ADORE taiwanese dramas.
like i know there are TONS of pinays that LOVE f4 & taiwanese dramas in general.
USUALLY, i see the taiwanese drama fans also watching japanese dramas.
the reason i'm writing this entry is because i saw these posts about..
"OMFG THERE IS NO WAY THEY CAN MAKE HANAKIMI BETTER THAN THE TAIWANESE VERSION"
. . . um yea ... NO!
i TRIED to watch meteor garden, and hana kimi ...
i had to stop BOTH because i'm sorry but they do not have enough pull as korean dramas or japanese dramas.
dont get me wrong both j & k dramas have bad acting...
but a WHOLE CAST of bad actors...not my kind of a thing.
the transitions are utterly awkward, and it's over done to the point of excessive.
i'm not talking about whether the cast is good looking or not.
that has NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, to do with the drama being good or not.
i think fan girls have this misconception that the drama is "WONDERFUL" because the lead is hot.
WTH?!
to the people that think meteor garden was better than hana yori dango...
maybe i am biased, but i read the manga, and i can say with 100% certainty that hyd > mg
i freaking HATE when countries remake dramas and SCREW w/ it. that is NOT cool.
back to hana kimi...
wuzen ... he's cute and all ... but people think he's a better actor than ryo?!

ryo may not fit the character physically but i think he can act the role a LOT better than wuzen x:
not to mention, the original mangaka will be helping out w/ the drama...
how can we go wrong w/ that?

i think if they cut ryo's hair, and make him wear the right shoes and pants to make his legs look longer...

i dont hate taiwan or taiwanese things...i just dont (PERSONALLY) think that their dramas are BETTER than korean or japanese dramas, but that doesnt mean i think all korean and japanese dramas are awesome or anything. x:

Has it been confirmed that Ryo and Maki are starring in the Hana Kimi? I will definitely watch it! However, I agree w/ you on Maki playing the role. Somehow I think Ueto Aya will fit the role better because she looks nice w/ short boyish hair (AP!). And Ryo would look HOT playing the lead. OMG... Ryo jumping over things? *swoons*

Yea I agree with you! I don't place stereotypes on dramas, because once in a while something good comes up in the tw/jap/kor/hk drama scene...I'm inclined to Japanese dramas, but I also watch dramas from many other countries, if they're worthed the watch!
As for Hanakimi, I watched the tw version, enjoyed the first 2/3 of it and kinda loathed the last 1/3 because the pacing went haywired and the ending was not up to my expectations. And much as I think Wu Chun was gorgeous in the show, he seriously needs to work on his acting. I can see his acting improving as the show progresses, but he can do more. Ryo..I think he CAN do the role good, because I've seen his convincing role in 1 litre, plus I believe that the script of the Jap ver will have appropriate pacing and be able to retain the essence of the manga better since certain aspects of the manga are restricted to Jap culture.
But we'll have to see what the team makes out of the dorama and we'll only know if the Japanese can make a remake matching up to or exceeding the standard set by the tw one only after the dorama's out. Besides, in my opinion, I find it extremely weird that much of tw's idol dramas are live actions of Japanese mangas..like ISWAK, MG, DBY, Hanakimi etc etc...And here they are, saying that the country where the plot originated from cannot produce something that is a good pairing to the manga. hmmm I wonder...
anyway, haven't really watched HK though a lot say the actor's really hot ^^ guess can't compare now ^^'
demo with MG & HYD...even if i was an F4 fan then and an Arashi fan now, i can say, without bias, that i liked how HYD was done, better. At least that's what i think ^^
and even before knowing jun or arashi...coz of HYD, i've loved Domyuoji's character (coz uhm...yeah, with MG, i was more of Hua Ze Lei/Rui's character XD)

seriously i dont understand when they said Ryo doesnt fit Sano at all, first of all i think Ryo fits Sano more better than Chun, ive watched th Hana Kimi Taiwanese version i like it and all, But if Ryo does the Hana Kimi version im more than willing to watch He's drama.
primarily i believe in Ryo's talent, i believe Ryo is like one of the mos gifted actors in Johnnys Jimusho, seriously, if Chun would play another role than Sano he wouldnt do great, he just did great because Ella did nice in this one

hahaha... that's why i like to read your post.. you got the points out ... with "fire" ne... people say what they like to say... specially in the own vox.. i read some people said the same thing... they ask me to watch the F4 version when i am so addicted to Jun's version... ; ( i keep reading the manga and HYD1 and HYD2 .. of course Jun's version ) .. I just piss my friends with similar reason like yours...

well... i use to watch t-drama few years back then..; but when i " discover" the nice plot and the unique K-drama style .. i turn my heart to k-drama...;
however, i am such a bad girl that i turn my heart back to j-drama.. since i am so into Arashi...

Japanese and korean dramas are better than TW dramas..that applies too for HYD vs MG..hehe!!

I love Hanadan. But off-topic, did you know its airing here in the philippines? in Tagalog? Yeah, and like I said, the dubbing is terrible. They didn't say "unbelievable" for "arienai itsu no", they said "magsamasama nga kayong lahat!" (which translates to: you should all be together!) which totally doesnt make sense whatsoever... XD
but anyway, i haven't watched any taiwanese dramas, but I think that there's just a more specific way that korea and japan hones the talents of their actors that is different from taiwan which sort of makes all the difference. I'm not saying that either is better since I am in no position to compare, but the way actors deliver in either place is different, so I suppose that's why.. and I guess most people are just more attracted to the japanese/korean way of acting. :)
yeah..im disappointed too with their dubbing with hana yori dango...
I think filipinos are yet to discover Japanese series and music be able to appreciate them..not just becoz its some fad...

i want the recent episodes of MS to show here, because the episodes here are just reruns.. i want them to show Nobuta wo Produce here too, although if i had a choice i would dub it! hahahahha!
Lol this never crossed my mind, but now that I think about it, he'd be totally perfect as Mizuki. He's certainly prettier than Maki. :D
Btw I think this is the first time I've come across a non-Pinoy who uses the term Pinay/Pinoy. Usually it's only us who use those terms to refer to ourselves. I'm guessing there must be a lot of Pinoys where you live in California.
mishie-chan, what episode are they in now? I pestered one of my friends to watch the dub with the high hope of Jun-baiting her, but her first impression was, "The girl is pretty, but guy looks scary." :-(
I must say, I totally agree with you; japanese and korean dramas are much better than taiwanese.
I tried watching Hana-kimi but the acting was so poor I had to stop.
And about the japanese version of Hana-Kimi, I also think Maki isn't the most suited for the role. What I've seen her, she's not a bad actor, but imo she just doesn't suit as Mizuki.
Someone said Ueto Aya would be good for Mizuki's role and I think so too, even though Hamasaki would be even better considering her height and how good she looks in blond hair.
Though I wouldn't mind at all if Tegoshi played the role... :D
but if they did.. i think it would be F4 all over again.. haaaaaayy~ i dont want them to be crowded over simply for just.. you know,.. gah.. mentality ~_~
if ryo would play sano then i'd be extremely happy! i love him in 1 litre of tears and i think he's a great actor! and as for horikita maki...hmmm... i like her but i don't think she'd fit the role. i'd rather see aya ueto or kimura kaela play the female lead.
regarding HYD in tagalog, i don't want to watch it because i know that the dubbing would be terrible. my sister told me the she and her friends would watch it just to make fun of the dubbing. why do they have to show HYD here in the philippines (i'm a bit selfish as well)?!
I actually put myself through the entire hana kimi series in the taiwanese version, except for the last episode. I am trying to make myself watch it because its the end of the first series. At first I thought Ella was really a guy, I had to go back and re-check a couple of times to make sure they really cast a girl for Mizuki's role. And I swear she keeps getting more 'boyish' as the story progressed. Wu Zen is hot and all and he fits Sano's physical description, but other than that acting wise I didn't feel that he did justice to Sano. I do like Jiro Wang's acting though. I felt that he was able to pull off Nakatsu.
As for them making it in Japanese, I'd definitely like to watch it. But Maki as Mizuki? I can't imagine her trying to disguise as a guy. Also, any idea who might probably be cast as Nakatsu?
You know, I watched the first episode of TW HanaKimi coz I love the manga and though I'd give it a shot. I lasted 15 minutes. Same with the TW adaption of Marmalade Boy. And various Kdramas. I just can't watch them. TW/K/HK dramas tend to go for too long and are drawn out so my attention wonders.
I'm not really sure about casting, coz I've only seen Ryo and Maki in a few things each, but I suppose it'll be interesting to see how it goes...

I'm Filipina... But i really really much hated the Taiwanese version of HYD xD. I've so far only watched one Taiwanese Drama all the way through, and god the acting was horrible. Smiling Pasta wasn't really that good but the story line was interesting so thats what kept me interested. I didn't really like Meteor Gardren, though I am a HUUUUUGE fan of F4 as a singing group (just not as an acting group xD)
I maybe just be a bitch to say it but I think Japanese Drama's tend be the best in my opinon, the story lines are oh so good, and the acting is some of the best I've ever seen :3
Haven't really watched that many Korean Drama's sense most of them are a bit too long, but nonetheless there are a lot better thing in Korean Dramas then Taiwan Dramas.

So, people who have no access to the internet cannot know about HYD. However, another channel is now showing HYD!!! So I'm excited maybe that will get Arashi here in Manila XD
Hmm I also think Jdoramas are better than Taiwanese dramas, becasue the Japanese seem to have this gift of translating manga to live action. Of course, the culture fits more and everything is not so drawn out. Like HYD only had less than 20 episodes. MG was pretty long, I got lost in the middle of it >_< (Inoue is also more kawaii ahahaha)

in any case, i was thinking of watching the Tversion of hanakimi but then I dont know, if its coming out in japanese anyway, i think i would much rather wait for that. Even if my friend says the taiwanese version is good, i wont take my chances--its nothing against taiwanese people...
OH, side and off topic note: has anyone watched Ninomiyakun in Sukoshi wa, Ongadeshi Ga Dekitakara? OMG I CRIED SO HARD. :( He was so fantastic there.

i think we dont have to worry about arashi popularity bcoz they r million times better than F4 (singing,acting,hosting,dancing,look)...and that was proven by their age in entertainment world.
i love japanese drama instead of taiwanese bcoz there r not long,boring,annoyying(sorry to say)like taiwanese.Beside that,as we know japanese drama always add motivation or lesson at the end of the story...their actor2 n actress r good too!S,worth of watching it!
